The term technician should not be misconstrued as it has been the case in some parts of the world were English is a second language, to mean a layman with some skills that were learned through trial and error, and has no formal education in the subject matter. Technicians in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, to mention but a few, are well skilled in their related fields and as such are of great value to our society. Therefore, the term when used in relation to the above mentioned careers should be adorn with much respect.
However, the objective of this article is to emphasis the need for more honest Technicians in our society. This expedience is not because our society is underdeveloped, neither has it anything to do with the fact that we don't have many Technicians out there who are honest.
